About Us Wendel Quartet
The Wendel Quartet was born from the common desire of its members to grow artistically through mutual musical knowledge and a shared passion for chamber music, specifically exploring the piano quartet repertoire. The name Wendel is inspired by the German word “Wendepunkt” — a turning point — reflecting their artistic vision and the transformative power of chamber music.
Founded in January 2024 at the Musik Akademie Basel in Switzerland, the quartet has since worked regularly with musicians such as Anton Kernjak, Silvia Simionescu and Claudio Martinez Mehner.

The Wendel Quartet was a prize winner at the Orpheus Swiss Chamber Music Competition in November 2024. Having joined the Le Dimore del Quartetto, the ensemble made their Italian debut at Musica Insieme Bologna in July 2025. In the season 25/26, they will debut at the Musikdorf Ernen, Swiss Chamber Music Festival Adelboden and Nexus Concert Serie around Switzerland.
Looking to the future, the Wendel Quartet aims to expand its repertoire, always maintaining an openness towards internationality and novelties, and enthusiastically facing the challenges of the modern musical world.
All members are generously supported by Rahn Kulturfonds.
